Transforming Lives Through Whole‑Person Wellness with Smiley Family Chiropractic
Smiley Family Chiropractic & Wellness Center’s mission is helping individuals and families function at their highest potential. Dr. Jessica Smiley describes the practice as a wellness‑centered, whole‑person environment where the focus extends far beyond treating symptoms.
The team works to identify underlying stressors and support the body’s natural ability to heal, regulate, and thrive. Their services include chiropractic care, brain‑based therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ozone sauna, PEMF therapy, massage therapy, biofeedback, cold laser, and nutritional support.
Dr. Smiley’s inspiration for opening her practice began during her own life‑changing experience with chiropractic care. Seeing how it transformed her health opened her eyes to a completely different approach to wellness, one she felt called to share with others.
While the practice carries the Smiley family name, Dr. Smiley says it has grown into something much bigger. The office is designed to care for entire families through every stage of life, and the atmosphere reflects that intention. When people walk through the doors, they aren’t just patients. They become part of the Smiley family. The Monroe County native wanted to create a place where individuals feel welcomed, valued, supported, and genuinely cared for.
What makes the practice unique is its whole‑person, heart‑centered approach.

Beyond the services themselves, Dr. Smiley believes the true difference lies in the environment and the relationships built along the way. Seeing lives change, sometimes in a matter of days or weeks, is one of her greatest joys.
In 2021, she was honored as Chiropractor of the Year by the Masters Circle Global, a recognition that placed her among top leaders in the profession worldwide.
Her motivation comes from knowing she has the opportunity to improve someone’s quality of life every single day. Mentorship has also played a major role in her journey, teaching her the importance of continuous learning, growth, and surrounding herself with people who inspire excellence.
Dr. Smiley values the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce for the connection, collaboration, and community strength it fosters. “I believe local businesses thrive when they support one another and build meaningful relationships rather than trying to succeed alone,” said Smiley.
She also believes the practice’s impact extends far beyond its walls. “By helping people feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally, they are better able to show up for their families, careers, and daily lives, creating a ripple effect throughout the community,” she added.
What Smiley loves most about doing business in Monroe County is the depth of the relationships formed. In a smaller community, she’s had the privilege of caring for multiple generations, celebrating victories, and walking with people through different seasons of life.
Balancing the heart of serving people with the responsibilities of running a business has been one of her biggest challenges. Entrepreneurship, she says, requires resilience, adaptability, and perseverance. Her dream for the future is continued growth, both locally and beyond, so the practice can make an even greater impact on the lives of people around the world.
Born and raised in Ball Play, Dr. Smiley attended school there, graduated from Madisonville High School, and later attended Hiwassee College. Her deep roots in Monroe County make serving this community especially meaningful. Outside the office, she loves horses and outdoor activities that make her feel grounded and free.
Above all, she treasures her role as “Gigi” to her two children and four grandchildren. “I give, I love, I serve and then some,” she says. “It’s the ‘and then some’ that makes the difference.”
One thing she wants the community to know is that you do not have to be under chiropractic care to benefit from many of the wellness services offered at Smiley Family Chiropractic & Wellness Center. The doors are open, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the mission is rooted in service, love, and community.
