JCPenney is looking to expand its Catalog Merchant Program into Monroe County. A representative from JCPenney is scheduled to be in Monroe County Tuesday, June 16 to meet with Chamber President & CEO, William Wells. He intends to spend a few days meeting one-on-one with interested area business owners. This is not a franchise and no “start up fees” are paid to JCPenney. Commissions are earned on catalog net sales. Orders are taken by the JCPenney Telemarketing Center. Advertising and promotional materials are provided at no charge. This could be an excellent opportunity for existing businesses to generate foot traffic for their shops and stores. It could also be a great source for additional revenue as estimates suggest $10,000 in the first year, $15,000 in the second year and $32,000 in the third to fifth years.
